ABOUT THE FILM

In sports, everyone roots for the underdog. There is something magical about watching an unexpected team win the big game.  From Wrecked to Ramblin' is the story of one of the most improbable underdog stories in college football.

Georgia Tech had been a consistent winner in the early days of college football, even stringing together 33 straight games without a loss during the 1950’s.  But, as time went on, Tech was no longer able to keep pace, and in the 1980 season Georgia Tech won one football game. The glory days seemed to have faded away.  Many pundits thought Georgia Tech would never again compete at the highest level.

But then, something incredible happened during the 1990 football season.  Pre-season rankings had come out, and Georgia Tech received no votes. No one was picking Tech, but the players were confident that they finally had all the pieces.  When Georgia Tech traveled on the road to play the #1 team in the country, everyone was watching, but few thought this Georgia Tech team could come out victorious. As the game progressed, people began to wonder- is this team for real?

From Wrecked to Ramblin': Georgia Tech's Return to Football Glory is a retrospective documentary chronicling the story of how Georgia Tech's football program was nearly shut down in 1980, but was able to rise from the ashes and have one of the most remarkable seasons in college football history.
